Inala Community House: 2020 Annual General Meeting

Inala Community House (ICH) held its Annual General Meeting for the 2019-2020 financial year on Monday, 12 October 2020.

The meeting commenced at 2PM at Inala Community House Business Centre (38 Sittella Street, Inala 4077) with a welcome and acknowledgement of country followed by the President’s report presented by our President, Janet Cullen.

“To say that the past year has been a difficult one would be a huge understatement; the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world has had significant impact upon the health and financial sectors in addition to the overall economy of almost all countries and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.” said President Janet Cullen in her report.

She continued, “Despite this, I am greatly encouraged to be able to report that Inala Community House has not only survived but has expanded its services and shown a profit for the year.

Over this period, we have also seen a significant change in funding models, community needs and in the regulatory environment. These changes have had a substantial effect on the organisation which required flexible responses to adapt to these external shifts.

The hard work over the past years has resulted in a more sustainable organisation which has a strong financial position with diverse revenue streams.”

Following the President’s report, Ann Bailey the Treasurer presented the audited financial report for the year and the elections for Board membership were held with all positions declared open except for the Secretary, currently Irene Clarke who was absent.

After the meeting, afternoon tea was provided which included sandwiches and tea and coffee, served to all in attendance.
