Our Parenting Programs

Our suite of programs are designed to support parents to hone their knowledge and skills in order to parent their children safely, supporting them to thrive. Due to our funding requirements, we can only offer these programs to families who have been referred by Child Safety and accepted by our service.
We can accept referrals from any Child Safety Service Centre for our parenting programs. Contact us on FISreferrals@ich.org.au to enquire.
Circle of Security Program:
An eight-week attachment-based parenting designed to help caregivers build healthier relationships with their children, improve parenting skills, and promote positive child development through practical strategies and supportive guidance. the course helps parents with simple ways of better identifying the child’s emotional needs and in meeting these needs the bond between the parent and child (attachment) is further strengthened resulting in more positive behaviours. It is most suited for young children; however the concepts apply to children of all ages.
Tuning Into Kids:
A six-week parenting program that helps caregivers understand their children’s emotions, respond with empathy, and build strong, connected relationships through practical emotion coaching techniques. TIK teaches parents to respond to their child’s emotions in a way that helps the children begin to learn how they can manage their big emotions. It is most relevant for children with a development age of pre-school to primary school.
Triple P (Positive Parenting Program):
Triple P help parents build confident, responsive parenting skills, sharing a range of practical strategies. The focus is on improving communication, managing behaviour and supporting the child’s social, emotional and behavioural development. Typically the group runs for 4 weeks with some additional one-on-one support when the parent is trialling some strategies.
If a parent is not eligible to access our FIS support, Kyabra offer parenting programs to the community – please see their current programs by using this link: https://kyabra.org/services/family-support/
