On Tuesday 31 October 2017, Inala Community House Western Districts Out of Home Care team celebrated 2017 Halloween Costume Party with our Children and Families in foster care service. Our aim was to provide a safe, fun and inclusive community event for these foster families to grow closer and create great memories together.
We were so delighted to see many little vampires, boogeymen, witches and more who came out to play!
From 3.30pm-5pm, the Party was held at Inala Community House Business Centre (38 Sittella Street, Inala QLD). The entire venue was transformed according to the Halloween theme, filled with spider webs, pumpkins and more spook-tacular decorations.
To kick things off, children were ushered to decorate their own Trick-or-Treat goodie bags at the craft station. Our team also prepared various fun, engaging games such as ‘Pin a Bow Tie on Mr. Bones’ and ‘Halloween Mystery Sensory Boxes’. Children were encouraged to exercise their creativity by explaining their individual Halloween costumes, playing games and participating in immersive storytelling. Meanwhile, our Carers and Coordinators had the chance to socialise, relax and catch up.
We then invited Children and Carers to meet all our office staff plus the opportunity to parade their Halloween costumes. All Children were excited to receive goodie bags, toys and of course, candies!
Everyone also got to enjoy healthy snacks specially prepared for afternoon tea.
