On Wednesday 2nd October 2019, Inala Community House (ICH) services collaborated to organise Child Protection Community Fun Day during the school holidays. Our aim was to raise awareness about child protection and ways to keep our children safe in the community.
From 10am to 2pm, the free community event was held at Elizabeth Bruce Playground (corner of Japonica and Robinia Streets, Inala QLD).
Many free fun activities including:
- Games and great prizes
- Sausage sizzle
- Jumping castle
- Snow cones
- Hair colouring
- Face painting and more
ICH ‘My Place’ Family Day Care team was in charge of the petting zoo. We had many piglets, chicks, ducks and lambs. Children and even adults joined in the fun to feed and play with the baby animals.
ICH Community Engagement team manned the busy sausage sizzle.
Eventgoers were free to browse the service information stalls including:

“This event is in celebration of Child Protection Week in Queensland. We are happy with the great turnout and seeing many of our foster carers, educators and families enjoying themselves today. It is all worth it,” said our Family Services Operations Advisor Meagan Quinn.
