Healthy Ageing Program (Acacia Ridge): Biggest Morning Tea for Cancer Fundraising

On Thursday 23rd May 2019, Inala Community House Healthy Ageing Program (Acacia Ridge) held a Biggest Morning Tea event for cancer fundraising.

From 11.30am, the event was held at our Acacia Ridge centre (29 Chardean Street, Acacia Ridge QLD).

We welcomed everyone from local community to join this meaningful event for only $10 – $5 for morning tea, $5 for donation.

Everyone enjoyed a lovely morning tea together – a big thank you to our team for preparing various scrumptious savoury and sweet food.

We also played several games to keep everyone entertained.

We played “toss the coin into the bowl” game where all coins used to play will also be counted towards donation. We also played a quiz to learn more about cancer:

What is the most common cancer for male? Lung cancer.

What is the most common cancer for female? Breast cancer.

Congratulations to one of our prize-winners Marie.

Haley with all the funds raised at the end of the day.

It is fantastic to see our event being supported by our participants. It is a great event to raise awareness and funds towards important cancer research that can benefit our society,” our Community Engagement Manager Haley Kiata said.

Thank you everyone for coming today. Our team has done our best to keep this event as simple and cost-effective as possible, so that more money can go towards Cancer Council,” our Community Engagement Coordinator Leah Nguyen said.
