On Tuesday 11th June 2019, Inala Community House Community Engagement team held an appreciation ceremony for Commonwealth Bank Inala for their $500 local community donation to our service.
The appreciation ceremony was held on 3.30pm at our SkyLarkers centre (20 Skylark Street, Inala QLD).
Our special guest was Charlie Nguyen, the Inala branch manager of Commonwealth Bank.
With the $500 community donation, Inala Community House was able to spend:
- $309 on the purchase of new Mahjong sets for our ever growing Mahjong community group every Friday 1-4pm at SkyLarkers centre. Mahjong is a popular game especially among local seniors to reduce social isolation and increase mental fitness.
- The remaining donation on the purchase of 2019 Multicultural Youth Day tickets for our vulnerable children from our Homework Club program. With the tickets, the children will be able to access a fully paid fun day out with the community, getting active and learning more about multiculturalism.
“On behalf of Commonwealth Bank Inala, it is my pleasure to visit and witness the lovely community work by Inala Community House. Thank you all for your hard work. Our CommBank Donations program is our way of saying thank you. We look forward to seeing how the funds we have contributed can help make a difference in the work that Inala Community House does for our local community,” Charlie said in his speech.
Thank You CommBank: Charlie Nguyen the Manager of Commonwealth Bank Inala, our Community Engagement Manager Haley Kiata and our Community Engagement Coordinator Anushka Abeyewardene.
A happy group photo with our Homework Club students. We welcome everyone to attend our free homework club every Tuesday 3.30-4.30pm during school term, at our SkyLarkers centre (20 Skylark Street, Inala QLD). Doing homework is more fun together!
