Childcare Safety and Assessment

Recently, there has been a rising concern over the safety of Queensland’s childcare facilities, especially after a 20-year-old Brisbane childcare worker was charged with the attempted rape of a two-year-old boy.
According to the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, more than half of Queensland’s childcare centres have failed to pass the national standards, or have yet to be assessed.
“Childcare is a place where parents need to be assured that their child is safe. Safety is paramount,” said Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk who will be pushing forward a possible overhaul of the blue card system in future.
