We welcome you to bring in any type of craft, artwork or do-it-yourself project that you are currently working on or interested in.

Sew it, bead it, knit it, paint it, stamp it – you name it! Just come in and make it!

Feel the creativity bubbling in the air as our “Thursday Crafters” get their hands busy, while enjoying delicious morning tea and friendly conversations. You can discuss the latest trends, exchange fresh ideas and share our unequivocal love for all things handmade.

We welcome all members of different interests, skills, and interests. Beginners are always welcome.

Say hi to one of our long-time “Thursday Crafters” – Barbara Parker.

I came from England in 1962. I have been attending Inala Community House’s craft group since its inception in 1976. I met another lady member who was doing bark art and taught us. I have fallen in love with it ever since. I have a growing bark art collection and even sold some of my art – recently at last year’s Ekka show. One of the sold artwork was an abstract portrait art of my granddaughter. This reminds me – I’ll have to make more and get ready for this year’s Ekka as well!

Currently, I am the only one in my family who specialises in bark art, while others are interested in cross-stitching and so on.”

Barbara currently lives in Ellen Grove. She has made many lifelong friends at our “Thursday Crafters” group. We love Barbara’s creativity, dedication and positive attitude she brings to us every week!

A big thank you to Barbara for sharing with us and even gifted us some paper bark shreds of melaleuca trees.

Our weekly “Thursday Crafters” group endeavours to help our senior members to alleviate boredom, improve mental strength and social connections – which may prevent feelings of depression. Getting crafty also helps with your hand-eye coordination, cognitive abilities and concentration.
