My Place Family Day Care: National Family Day Care Week

National Family Day Care Week

National Family Day Care Week recognises and promotes the important role family day care educators and services play in the development and wellbeing of more than 107,000 children across Australia.

The annual celebration highlights the main unique benefits of family day care as a high quality, flexible early childhood education and care option for Australian families.

In 2021 National Family Day Care Week will take place from May 3-9.

On Wednesday 5th May 2021, My Place Family Day Care celebrated National Family Day Care Week with our educators and children.

Due to the heavy rain, we had to move everything indoors. We were still thrilled to see many joining us for a fun morning.

In line with Family Day Care Australia’s theme, we held our own National Family Day Care Picnic too as we all sat down for a bite and some big little conversations.

We also organised some Mother’s Day craft activities to give each mum a special gift. Lots of painting as little hands got busy!

In a corner, we had also set up a “Nature Table” teaching children about the life cycle of plants and insects. We collected many natural materials for children to have a fun “touch and feel” learning experience.

We ended the playgroup with a story time reading Wombat Stew.

We always welcome new educators and families to join us. For more information about My Place Family Day Care, please contact our friendly team 3372 1711 | FDCadmin@ich.org.au | www.MyPlaceFDC.org.au
