On Thursday 17th January 2019, Inala Community House Community Engagement team organised our first big community event of the year – Family Fun Day with our valued community partners QPASTT and PCYC Inala.
From 10am to 2pm, the event was held at PCYC Inala (37 Swallow Street, Inala QLD 4077). The free event welcomed all members of the public, specifically children aged 5-12 and families during this school holidays.
Serving our community is what we do and love best.
To keep things interesting, we organised various great fun activities including:
- Jumping Castles
- Face-Painting
- African Drumming
- Social Circus
- Mandalas
- Music
- Indoor Soccer
- Basketball
- Badminton
- Volleyball
- Egg on Spoon Race
- Bounce Ball
- Hula-Hooping and Rope-Skipping
- Colouring Station
..and more!
Free morning tea and lunch were provided all day, with halal, vegetarian and vegan options all available.
Thank you to our amazing team who worked tirelessly to provide all the free food for a hungry crowd, such as shaved ice desserts, popcorn, chicken and vegetarian wraps and sausage sizzle. We also prepared a water station with quick healthy snacks available like muesli bars, watermelon and orange slices to cool down from the summer heat and crowd’s excitement from having plenty of fun!
Overall it was a great eventful day seeing children, adults and families from all cultures and backgrounds mixing and having fun together.
