Welcome to The Oasis Centre – providing a wide range of affordable holistic counselling services available for everyone to maximise your health, social and emotional wellbeing.

Due to rising needs, Inala Community House is thrilled to launch this new initiative in partnership with Ms Jatinder Kaur (JK Diversity Consultants and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker).

Meet Jatinder – the manager of our new The Oasis Centre.

Jatinder has over 15 years of experience working in social work practice, mental health, policy and research. She is passionate about ‘making a difference’ and advocating for diverse communities who may not have the ability to ‘have their say’.

The Oasis Centre is based on the following core values:

The Oasis Centre welcomes everyone – children, young people, adults, seniors, families from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds to join our strictly confidential, safe and supportive space. Upon registration, we will help identify your specific needs and therapy goals. Next, we will match you with our team of allied health professionals (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist and Speech Pathologist) who will be servicing mainly the Brisbane South West region.

Examples of the issues that we can help you with:

  • Mental Health issues such as: Anxiety, Depression, Stress (school/work/family),
  • Refuge trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Grief and Loss
  • Parenting and Family relationships (including domestic violence counselling)
  • Chronic Illness, Injury
  • Provide assistance and support for Clients with a Disability and pre-planning for NDIS rollout
  • Counselling for issues related to Alcohol and other Drugs

We also provide culturally responsive counselling support for migrant and newly arrived refugee clients in relation to trauma, migration and settlement and have access to free Interpreter service.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we aim to offer affordable access to mental health care to help as many people as possible within our community. You will need to make appointment with your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist and have a Mental Health Care Plan or a specialist referral. This will give you access to our counselling sessions under Medicare rebates.
