‘My Place’ Family Day Care: Book Week Playgroup

On Wednesday 28th August 2019, ‘My Place’ Family Day Care celebrated Book Week Playgroup with our Educators and Children.

From 9am, the themed Playgroup was held at ‘Our Place’ Hall (corner of Japonica and Robinia Streets, Inala QLD).

“Each year across Australia, the CBCA brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children’s literature and you will often see children’s book character parades and talented librarians creating amazing displays.”

It was amazing to see such a great turnout – we had 15 Educators and 50 Children in attendance! Thank you everyone for coming and dressed in your best costumes too.

We had prepared a variety of toys and outdoor play equipment ready to be explored.

Here we are making strawberry craft using playdough and natural ingredients like leaves and rice.

Children were encouraged to explore colouring and painting to make Father’s Day craft.

Thank you to our Coordinators Britt and Nicole who hosted the fun Playgroup.

Britt’s strawberry and mouse costume is inspired by The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear book. Nicole is of course, the iconic Snow White.

Thank you to our Educator Susan Newberry for reading The Gruffalo during storytime. Have you seen the Gruffalo?

We finished off with more singing and dancing for the Children.
