On Friday 15th March 2019, Inala Community House (ICH) Community Engagement team joined the World’s Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation event organised by Councillor for Forest Lake Charles Strunk.
In 2019, the Leukaemia Foundation will celebrate 21 years of the World’s Greatest Shave campaign. People of all ages will shave, colour, or wax the hair on their head, chest or face to help raise money for blood cancer.
Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are types of blood cancer. Blood cancer and related disorders can develop in anyone, of any age, at any time.
Councillor Charles Strunk performing the “big shave” for our proud volunteer Zachariah – who managed to fundraise a total of $684.90 with the support of family and friends.
“I am so incredibly proud of Zachariah Ming from Western Suburbs Special School for taking the initiative to raise awareness to stop blood cancer by participating in the World’s Greatest Shave. We had a ball colouring our hair this afternoon and making sure he exceeded his target amount of $560. Well done to all who jumped on board,” said Councillor for Forest Lake Charles Strunk.
