On Friday 30th October 2020, Inala Community House celebrated a fun Halloween night skating, scootering and enjoying free pizza with our community at DJ Sherrington Park, Inala.
This event was motivated by youth-led activities and capacity-building for young people in the Inala area. In the regional community development role a group of young people known as “Catch Up Crew” are supported to host such local events. These people are mainly in grade 10, with the Brisbane City Council Youth Development Team supporting their development to host events and access training.
This park activation builds relationships between local young people and gives them local opinions rather than heading to the city. These events have had a collaborative and great atmosphere.

We thank our wonderful partners The Ridge, Red Frogs and Brisbane City Council Youth Development team including a casual member who hasa skate focus. All partners will be gathering to discuss the final event for 2020 on December 11th as we make these events and activities sustainable and affordable.
