A note-worthy event to celebrate our love for music in Inala.
On Tuesday 6th June 2017, Inala Community House was honoured to host a free community Mini Concert by Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO). Supported by the Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiative Fund, QSO visited schools and communities around Inala on 6th and 7th June offering a range of learning experiences.
QSO is renowned for its high quality, breath-taking performances of both classical and modern compositions that engage audiences of all musical tastes, interests and ages. As the largest performing arts company in Queensland employing 88 full-time musicians and the state’s only professional symphony orchestra, QSO plays a vital role in Queensland’s cultural community, giving over 157 live performances across 47 weeks each year to more than 1.6 million people. The QSO’s free community Mini Concert was held from 3-3.45pm at Inala Community House Business Centre (38 Sittella Street, Inala QLD. Available for hire: http://www.ich.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Hall-Hire-DL-Trifold.pdf). The event was free and open to all members of Inala regardless of age, culture and background.
We specially invited our regular Tuesday Homework Club children, families and volunteers for this unique out-of-classroom educational experience offering an introduction to classical music and lifelong learning for budding musicians.

We are very grateful for everyone attending our performance today, especially our representatives from St John’s Anglican College,” said QSO Community Engagement Manager Judy Wood.
A QSO string quartet performed a highly entertaining 30-minute concert showcasing the instruments of the string family and a range of string repertoire. Audience was given the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the friendly and helpful QSO musicians throughout the event.
