Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

On Monday 17th July 2017, Inala Community House Community Engagement team organised a special “Christmas in July” celebration during Musical Morning Tea.

Musical Morning Tea is held every Monday 10am to noon, at ‘Our Place’ Hall (corner Japonica and Robinia streets, Inala, Queensland). $3 entry for yummy morning tea, live entertainment and great community of friends. $4 for pick-up and drop-off service.

For the day’s special “Christmas in July” celebration, we decorated the Hall with festive-looking garlands, ornaments and mini Christmas trees.

Everyone was invited for a lovely morning tea, followed by a delicious roast lunch spread prepared by our staff and volunteers.

A big thank you to Barry Buchanan who performed lively Christmas carols and songs, as attendees enjoyed themselves by singing along, dancing and having a good time together. Attendees also got to opportunity to catch up and mingle among themselves.

Thank you to Dawny Nguyen and Thu Nguyen for performing a beautiful cultural Vienamese dance.

Lucky lady – congratulations to Maureen Luttrell who won the biggest raffle prize of the day!

Thank you to Inala Community House Community Engagement team for organising this event. A special thank you to Haley’s family for donating the raffle prize, as well as Haley’s mum Dr. Liz Kiata who spent Sunday preparing food and making her famous cheese sauce for all to enjoy. Musical Morning Tea ‘Christmas in July’ has been a tradition for 24 years and counting,” said our Musical Morning Tea Coordinator/Volunteer Shirley Schneider.

We look forward in seeing everyone at next week’s Sausage Sizzle special!
