On Tuesday 19th November 2019, Inala Community House Community Engagement team celebrated 2019 Homework Club End of Year Party with our students, volunteers, parents and families.
From 3.15pm to 4.30pm, the annual celebration was held at our SkyLarkers centre (20 Skylark St., Inala QLD). We welcomed everyone to join our free event including food, drinks and games.
We fed a happy hungry after-school crowd with delicious pizzas, fruit slices and fruit juices.
Thank you to our volunteers for keeping our students occupied with fun interactive festive games, such as “Pin the Nose on Rudolph” with blindfolds on.
We also had an art and craft station where you can make your own ornament to be hung on our Christmas tree.
“What an awesome year 2019 of Homework Club. Firstly, thank you Anushka who runs our program every week and today’s great party too. We acknowledge all our amazing volunteers including St. John’s senior students and teachers – we don’t know what we’d do without your support!
We would like to gift each volunteer a certificate, and a plant from our garden so that you can always have a piece of SkyLarkers centre with you. Finally, a round of applause for our longest-serving volunteers Ellie and Jennifer who would be off to university next year – thank you for your contribution and may you go forth making the world a better place,” our Community Engagement Manager Haley Kiata said in her welcome speech.
We also prepared Christmas presents for each student including books, stationery and snacks.
What a jolly year of free learning, fun and growth! Here’s to a bigger and better Homework Club in 2020.
