On Tuesday 25th October 2016, 50 & Better Healthy Ageing Program: Acacia Ridge held a special “Morning Tea session with Graham Perrett (Moreton MP)” at our centre from 10-11.30am.

The event was well-attended by many local senior members. It started off with a formal welcome of Mr. Perrett by our Community Engagement Services Manager Haley Kiata.

“For the first time ever, we are incredibly honoured to invite Mr. Graham Perrett for a special meet and greet session with local senior members. This provides a great opportunity for them to continue actively participating in local matters, exchange views and build long-term meaningful relationships with key politicians,” said Ms. Kiata.

Mr. Perrett also expressed his gratitude for the invite:

“Thank you for the invitation to be present today. It is my pleasure and I look forward in continuing my support for your healthy ageing program within the community,” he said in his welcoming speech.

All of our senior members were pleased to meet with Mr. Perrett. Throughout the meet and greet session, Mr. Perrett answered all members’ enquiries and discussed key issues impacting our local community.

We also organised a complete centre visit with Mr. Perrett to introduce our centre facilities and regular activities that significantly benefitted local senior members for many years.
